Malcolm Hollis is pleased to announce 31 promotions across the business as of 01 May 2017. These promotions are recognition of the hard work and commitment staff have shown to Malcolm Hollis and it is this dedication that has enabled the firm to grow from strength to strength and enjoy outstanding success within the industry. The promotions are also testament to the Malcolm Hollis ethos of creating opportunities for staff. Congratulations to all those promoted, who are listed below and a summary is as follows:

Simon Goodrick is promoted to Partner. Simon joined Malcolm Hollis as a graduate and has specialised in dilapidations for over 10 years. Simon works with a variety of clients including institutional landlords, national retail operators, and private property companies in relation to all aspects of dilapidations work across all sectors including industrial, retail and offices premises. Simon’s promotion will also see him take responsibility for the day to day running of the Birmingham office which now employs over 20 people.
Also in Birmingham Stephen Seeney and Richard Morris are promoted to Associate. Both surveyors are involved in all aspects of building surveying and work with a variety of clients both regionally and nationally.
Anthony Fallon and Gavin Scriven are promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Anthony joined as a graduate in 2013 and went on to successfully pass his APC in 2015 with Gavin joining Malcolm Hollis in 2014. Both surveyors specialise in landlord and tenant matters and work with clients including BAE systems, Ashville Properties and AEW.
Ross Powell is promoted to Senior Associate. Ross originally joined Malcolm Hollis as a graduate in Birmingham before moving to Cardiff in 2016. Ross has over 10 years’ experience in the industry with particular experience in building surveys and dilapidations. Ross’ clients include M7, Telereal Trillium and LaSalle Investment Management.
Ewan Wyllie is promoted to Senior Associate. Ewan undertook the role of Planning Supervisor and CDM Co-ordinator prior to the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and has since been Principal Designer and Advisor to the Principal Designer on several projects across the UK. Providing expert CDM advice is an area Ewan now specialises in, working with clients such as Keppie Design and Standard Life.
Malcolm Smith and Rory Cullens are promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Malcolm is past Chair of the RICS Matrics in Glasgow and was shortlisted for Young Surveyor of the Year in the Building Surveying Category at the 2016 RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards. Rory joined Malcolm Hollis in 2015 in London and relocated to Glasgow in 2016. Both surveyors work across all sectors providing a range of commercial building surveying services and advice.
Daniel Leaf is promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Daniel is experienced in a range of traditional building surveying activities including the procurement and delivery of construction projects for owners and occupiers within the commercial office and industrial sectors. Clients Daniel works with include McDonald’s restaurants and Telereal Trillium.
David Hooson-Jones is promoted to Senior Associate. David has experience across many areas including contract administration, party walls, condition and pre-acquisition surveys and development monitoring within both the public and private sectors.
James Hodge is promoted to Partner. James joined Malcolm Hollis as a graduate in 2005 and now specialises in project management across all commercial sectors, on commissions ranging between £30,000 to £20m. James’ clients include AEW and Standard Life.
Promoted to Senior Associate are Karl Stansbie and Adam Wlodarczyk-Black. Karl joined as a graduate in 2012 and went on to successfully pass his APC in 2014 with Adam joining in 2014. Karl specialises in landlord and tenant work and manages the dilapidations requirements for various clients including Columbia Threadneedle and Legal & General. Adam specialises in project procurement and delivery and works with clients including Aviva Investors and Tristan Capital Partners.
M&E specialist Trevor Dingle is promoted to Senior Associate and colleague Jon Carruthers to Senior Engineer. Trevor specialises in the design and management of M&E schemes for all building types from single occupant houses through to multi-unit residential high rise schemes and commercial buildings both large and small. Jon is a multi-skilled engineer specialising in due diligence work including investment, acquisition and vendor’s surveys.
Dan Felgate and Dan Watton are promoted to Associate. Dan Watton joined as a graduate in 2011 and went on to successfully pass his APC in 2014 with Dan Felgate joining in 2016. Both have experience across a broad range of services with particular focus on dilapidations and project delivery working with clients such as Telereal Trillium and Workspace.
Also in London Jo Bell is promoted to Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. Jo’s clients include CBRE Global Investors and SEGRO.
Philip Hirst is promoted to Senior Associate. Philip provides advice across a large cross-section of service types, but most particularly in dilapidations and party wall matters. Philip works with Malcolm Hollis clients including Hansteen and Whittle Jones. Philip is a committee member of RICS Teeside Local Association and RICS NE Matrics and was shortlisted for Young Surveyor of the Year in the Building Surveying Category at the 2016 RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards.
In London; Danni Moore is now Brand & Communications Manager. Seven members of our secretarial team are promoted across our London, Leeds and Manchester offices – well done to Christine Gould, Claire Kilburn, Esther Vasilisinaite, Jade Pitt, Jenna Bennett, Kelly McKeon and Lucie Whitesides.
Alex Davies and Lynsey Pilgrim are promoted to Facilities Coordinators with Zubar Sarwar promoted to a Support Specialist within our IT team. All three are London based.
