Robert Ballantyne
Partner | Glasgow
I am based in our Glasgow office with responsibility at a national level for our building surveys service.
What I do
I deal with the full range of building surveying services and work for clients across a wide range of sectors, including fund managers, public sector organisations and landlords and tenants. I have a particular focus on due diligence surveys of commercial property having experience of instructions from small retail units to the largest of central London multi-storey towers and I am responsible for the development and delivery of this service across the UK and Ireland.
I am fortunate enough to have been involved in a number of exciting projects since becoming a building surveyor. In the recent past, I have been responsible for leading the technical due diligence teams on a number of high profile acquisitions and disposals for institutional clients.
I qualified as a building surveyor in 1999, following a career change from my time in-house for a government estates department. Since then, I have worked with national and international property consultancies specialising in technical due diligence, project management, contract administration and development monitoring.
I am involved in a number of industry bodies and member of the IPF.
Who I am
Outside work I enjoy socialising with my wife and friends. I also enjoy anything with a pitch or goals on TV, and have a regular kick about with an ageing five-a-side football team.
