Malcolm Hollis was founded in 1971 but there is more to our history than that…
The firm merged with Baxter, Payne & Lepper, which at the time was the oldest firm of Chartered Surveyors in the UK.
Nationwide Building Society purchased Baxter Payne & Lepper and Malcom Hollis became the building surveying department of Nationwide.
A management buy-out purchased the original Malcolm Hollis entity back from Nationwide and the firm was ‘re-born’ with a small number of surveyors operating from offices in Brooks Court, Battersea in London.
We opened our first office outside London in Manchester and this remains our largest office outside of our Battersea head office.
Our coverage of the UK expanded with office openings in Glasgow and Leeds.
We created a stir and our new brand made a real impact on the market. At the head of our brand identity is the starburst which captures our unique spirit and is made up of the tools of our trade, our people, the buildings that we work amongst and our special little quirks.
We recognised the absence of any specialist dilapidations M&E engineers in the marketplace which led us to form our own in house team.
We opened our office in the heart of London’s property district in Mayfair.
We launched our new look website.
21 milestones to celebrate the making of Malcolm Hollis and the opening of our Liverpool office. This brought our total office network to 14 covering all the major cities across the UK and Ireland.
We ventured into new space with our first office in mainland Europe.
