Our involvement in corporate social responsibility is driven by our values and it is important to us. It influences how we do business, how we work together and the way in which we contribute to the wider community.
Landaid Foundation Partner
Malcolm Hollis is proud to be a LandAid Foundation Partner playing an active role in making a difference to the lives of the young and disadvantaged. LandAid is the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK. It tackles the root causes of youth homelessness, protects young people on the streets, provides accommodation and support for those who have been homeless and gives a platform to young people to have their voices heard. We also encourage our employees to become LandAid Ambassadors and currently have 5 across the country and more information on this programme can be found here.
Malcolm Hollis operate a payroll giving scheme allowing all employees the opportunity to donate any amount to a charity of their choice, straight from their payslip. We have been awarded the Payroll Giving Gold Award for the third consecutive year, since the scheme was implemented at Malcolm Hollis in September 2014. In the last year, since July 2016, Malcolm Hollis’ employees have donated nearly £3000 to various charities through the scheme, which is operated by The Payroll Giving team. For more information on the scheme, click here.
As part of our commitment to educating young people; diversity and ensuring the long-term success of the real estate industry, Malcolm Hollis has partnered with UrbanPlan UK.
UrbanPlan is the Urban Land Institute’s exciting educational initiative that has been running successfully in high schools in the US for over ten years – reaching over 27,000 students and enabling more than 1,500 ULI members to share their experiences. It brings to life the urban environment for young people through a series of interactive real life workshops and team working challenges. The programme needs volunteers to help run the workshops in the chosen schools and we encourage our employees to become volunteers.
We are committed to supporting UrbanPlan UK schools initiative for the two academic years September 2016 to August 2018 by contributing to the costs of delivering UrbanPlan UK in schools across the country during this period.

Charity of the Year
Each year Malcolm Hollis sponsors a charity as chosen by employees. For 2017/2018 our sponsored charity is Heads Together, a campaign coordinated by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. It is a major mental health initiative which combines a public awareness campaign to change the national conversation on mental health and tackle stigma, with fundraising for a series of innovative new mental health services.
We have raised almost £3000 for Heads Together so far and have a number of fundraising activities taking place in 2018 including a plank challenge and participation in the London Marathon as part of the Heads Together team.
For more information about Heads Together please visit their website here.
Time to Change pledge
Malcolm Hollis has demonstrated our commitment to change how we think and act about mental health in the workplace by signing the Time to Change pledge. This is a commitment to changing the way we think and act about mental health at every level of this organisation. In order to sign the Pledge we have submitted an action plan detailing what we will do, including:
- Mental Health awareness training
- Introduction of Mental Health Champions
- Continued support and fundraising efforts for our Charity of the Year, Heads Together
- Introduction of Tea & Talk sessions
Time to Change is England’s biggest programme to challenge mental health stigma and discrimination and is run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. For further information please visit the Time to Change website here.
National Charities and colleagues’ personal challenges
Malcolm Hollis supports national charities by getting involved in raising money through national charity days such as ‘Wear it Pink’, ‘Christmas Jumper Days’ and ‘Macmillan Coffee Mornings’. We also support our colleagues who take up personal challenges to raise funds for worthwhile causes.
Additional community sponsorship
Malcolm Hollis is also happy to support our local communities by sponsoring children’s schools, sports teams, local events etc. In the last two years we donated money to three children’s sports teams to enable them to purchase new kit and have supported a school with raising money to purchase a friendship bench, in order to help children who may find the playground a lonely place.
