I am responsible for our dispute resolution service.
What I do
I am an equity partner and have a number of roles throughout the business. My principal focus is dispute resolution.
Although I still undertake work in all traditional building surveying areas, I specialise in landlord and tenant matters including dilapidations, contested lease renewals and service charge disputes. I operate out of our Birmingham and London offices.
In the field of dispute resolution, I cover a number of areas and work closely with Nicholas Dowding QC. I was appointed as an Expert Witness in the widely reported The 1954 Act case ground (f) Franses v Cavendish Hotels, which was decided in the Supreme Court in December 2018. I am also one of only ten RICS accredited independent experts in the UK for dilapidations disputes.
I also regularly present and write articles in the property press on various surveying subjects.
Who I am
Away from work my young family with two girls keep me busy but, given the opportunity, I enjoy reading, cooking, watching Nottingham Forest lose regularly, England winning occasionally (in any sport!), all more often than not with a beer in my hand.
