What happened at MIPIM 2019
Events/News | March 22, 2019
Malcolm Hollis attended MIPIM again this year and had a productive week promoting our services, catching up with existing clients and contacts, and growing our network.
The MIPIM team consisted of Anne Johnstone, Ashley Winter, Chris Sullivan, Edward Pittar, Ian McKenna, Ian Shaw, Mark Hampson, Mark Smith, Michelle Condon, Jamie O’Brien, John Woodman, Paul Heyes, Peter Martin, Robert Ballantyne, Roland Verniers, Stephen Lemmon and Steve Hughes. They were tasked with flying (literally) the flag for all our offices and services to raise our profile with the UK, Ireland and mainland European markets and investors.
The Malcolm Hollis MIPIM Way
During the four days, we entertained approximately 400 guests aboard our chartered yacht Hutiane. We went sailing twice a day and also held breakfasts, lunches and dinners aboard the boat. On Wednesday we hosted a wine and cheese tasting event and everyone had a gouda time!
Likewise, we hosted approximately 70 guests at a series of lunches and dinners ‘on land’ from Tuesday through to Thursday evening and we were busy attending other events hosted by industry organisations, clients and contacts. Partner Ashley Winter took part in an RICS panel discussion on the future of the surveying profession and Senior Partner John Woodman was interviewed by Sam McClary of Estates Gazette on the impact of Brexit uncertainty in the real estate industry. You can watch the video here.
We had a Malcolm Hollis stand in the Riviera Hall which proved invaluable when it came to meeting new contacts and in true Malcolm Hollis style we had a competition called ‘beat the clock’ for everyone to take part in.
The journey to MIPIM
Partner Mark Hampson and Senior Associate Karl Stansbie completed the 1,500km Legal & General Real Assets Cycle to MIPIM from London to Cannes! They cycled to raise money for Club Peloton and Coram, the oldest children’s charity in London that has been helping vulnerable children for 350 years. There is still time to donate here. Huge congratulations to Mark, Karl and everyone else who took part in the cycle!
Now MIPIM is over, the real work begins and we’re already busy following up on opportunities (whilst trying to recover). Until next year!
